Hi there and happy May!!
I know the weather has been playing tricks everywhere during April but let's hope that winter has finally been kicked to the curb!
Our lovely Carol has chosen the colour duo for the Color Hues Challenge #40!
I'll be honest I started off excited for these colours and then it turned to a bit of panic but in the end I embraced the challenge and made my card.
I started off with my background paper which is Papertrey Ink's Fine Linen for my tan. I chose to stencil in blue and used Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink. The stencil is from Open Studio and called Fractal Diamond, but now retired. The good news is that you could use just about any similar stencil for your background. I have linked up to a few art deco style stencils below that would create the same kind of look.
I know that masculine cards are everyone's favourite to create--ha ha ha ha!
Tracey, I'm crushing over this fractal diamond stenciled card you've designed! I so rarely stencil on anything other than white cardstock, so your choice to do so on tan has me thinking! Need to explore something different when next I stencil. Your husband will LOVE this card, as do I!

ReplyDeleteI adore the look of your card, Tracey! Great idea to use a colored ink on the Fine Linen cardstock & now I'm going to do that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great background! Hubby is sure to love his bday card, Tracey it's terrific!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your finished card on the DT blog you inspired me to stencil on colored cardstock. Thanks for the inspiration and great job with the hubster's birthday card!
ReplyDeleteYour card for J is fantastic - and it's also a fine way to incorporate tan into your card, Tracey!
