I started my personal blog 7 years ago in January 2011 as a place to post my cards for when I entered card challenges. In those first few months of blogging I became friends from afar with Joyce Mehrberg from Cards-by-the-sea and Kim Heggins from Cupcakes Cards and Kim. We communicated mainly through our blog posts and then by email and finally we started chatting through Facebook Messenger in a group chat that has been ongoing for about 6 years! During that time we have discussed that one day we would meet for real which turned into them coming to Canada to visit me to them actually coming last Sunday and staying here at my house!
Exciting that there was still a bit of snow around and it snowed a few times while they were here too. They did miss however, the 8" that fell between Friday overnight and Saturday! Me personally, I have seen enough snow for this year!
On Wednesday Ardyth from Maskarade came up for the day to craft with us and we ended up stopping in for lunch at her house on Friday before taking them to the airport to head home.
I wondered after all the conversation we have had in the last 6 years if we would have anything left to say. No worries there, just with the addition of laughing until the tears were streaming down our cheeks! We spent the week crafting, laughing, shopping and eating until Friday when sadly they needed to head back to California. It is so wonderful to make friends in this wonderful crafty community of ours but it really is fabulous to meet for real!
My hubby was a very good sport this week, UBER driver, barbecuing, doing dishes so we could get back to our very important job of crafting and taking photos for us.
Tracey, how wonderful to meet good friends in person. I know to a stranger that might sound odd, but crafters won't find it odd at all. Fabulous post, thanks for sharing and your hubs is a keeper!
