SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #14

Excited today for my first official post with the SugarPea Designs Challenge Design Team!
I am going to be posting a project every Wednesday when the weekly Mix It Up Challenge is introduced.

To play along with us you can use the sketch or the inspiration photo on the right, or mix it up and combine the two. Every week there is a new Mix It Up Challenge on the SugarPea blog, you can play one or all the challenges as many times as you like during the course of the month. At the end of the month one winner is chosen.

The more you enter, the better your chances of winning up to a $50 SPD gift card!

Visit the Sugar Pea Designs blog for all the details and deadlines and to join the challenges.

For Challenge #14 I used both the sketch and the photo for my card. One thing I cannot resist are cute stamped doughnuts so I started my design by stamping some blue and pink chocolate doughnuts from Classroom Cupids. This was how I picked up the colours from the photo. Then I selected some kraft cardstock with white polka dots to resemble the kraft paper bags on the photo. Now what cute doughnut card doesn't deserve some sparkle. So my final element I chose was some gold sparkle paper. With all my supplies in hand I used the sketch to create my card, replacing the stars with doughnuts!  I added my gold embossed sentiment also from Classroom Cupids and painted my doughnuts with clear Wink of Stella for just a bit more shine!
