I found some time to play with the Essentials by Ellen September Pin-Sights Challenge this weekend. I just love the inspiration this month.
So many directions to go but I was really looking for a reason to finally use my Essentials By Ellen Mondo Peony stamps. I started stamping and white embossing the flowers and leaves onto a piece of Bristol cardstock. The original plan was to watercolour the embossed images with Distress Ink but before I even started my ZIG's were calling my name. I used Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, Pale Green, and Yellow Green ZIG's to colour the images. I added some sequins filled with Silver Stickles and a few Neptune Nuvo Crystal Drops (I see a lot more of those in my shopping cart). I spritzed the entire panel with some Sparkle Sheer Glimmer Spritz to finish it off. I was having some trouble getting a good photo--do you ever find soft blues hard to capture in the lens? I do. So I decided to retake the photos and somehow with all my fussing I managed to smudge the Stickles--ugh! Leson learned make sure everything is dry before you handle your cards!
A soft and subtle beauty, Tracey! I love it! (And I learn the lesson about not handling wet cards over and over and over... wait! maybe I haven't learned it yet? haha!)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely ... I love the watery blue and the pop of the white-on-black sentiment.
ReplyDeleteTracey,
ReplyDeleteI can clearly feel the mood board in your card. That lovely pale blue/aqua shade is fabulous. I love the white embossing and the gentle layout of your design. A touch of black always seems to add a bit of elegance too.
Aren't you glad you picked that colour of Nuvo to buy first? ;) Perfect with your beautifully watercoloured peonies. (My Zigs call my name a lot, too. Obviously a special property built into them.)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!
