colourQ #355

Happy Tuesday!
It's time for this week's new colour palette at the colourQ.

Tried something new this week. The image was stamped with dye ink, spritzed with water and then laid down on watercolour paper. I think this will take a bit of practice but fun to try. I added some water to SU Pistachio Pudding ink and tapped some onto the watercolour panel. A strip of black and white stripe paper was added to the left of the card base and the sentiment stamped in grey.

Sometimes, well a lot of the time, our finished card doesn't turn out as initially planned. In my original plan my watercolour panel was going to be adhered over a grey base with an 1/8" border. When I decided to use the striped strip on the left my watercolour panel was too short! So how did I fix it? I trimmed the card base with the black striped strip down to 5 1/4" to match the watercolour panel.

  6. What an interesting technique! With my large selection of pigment inks, I'll have to try this. Certainly your card makes me want to! And LOL, I did the same thing with a card just the other day when I decided to offset the panel instead of centring it with a border. ;)
