A Special Masculine Birthday

IMG_9441

Masculine birthday cards, I think, are the hardest to make. To find the right images and colours can be tricky. In the case of today's card it is for my son's 21st birthday which is this coming Tuesday. I knew that the images from MFT's Get Toasty would be perfect for Ben. We did a lot of camping when he was a child so lots of toasted marshmallows.

My inspiration came from THIS card created by Karin Åkesdotter. I started off by stamping the Concord & 9th Tree Rings background stamp on a kraft card base. I die cut my sticks and marshmallow, then sponged the edges of the marshmallows to for that perfectly browned edge. I added my sentiment to the front and another happy birthday on the inside.
