Happy Monday!
A very last minute entry to the Muse Challenge #113. Do you have those nights when you just can't fall asleep? That is me this morning, up creating a card when I really should be sleeping. After what has been another busy weekend I think I am a bit wired. Michele was the Muse this challenge and here is the gorgeous card she created...
So here is my card inspired by her design...
Wink of Stella detail...
Everyone is home, we picked Ben up from the bus Sunday night now that his final exams are done and he has everything packed to move to his new place in Sudbury at the end of the month. He rented a house with three other guys this past year, but two are finished school and moving on. Ben and one of the guys are going to rent the front of the same house this coming year. So moving means going out the door of the place they are in and walking around to the front entrance of the same house. He is home for a couple days and then Wednesday I drive him up to Muskoka to start his summer job on Thursday.
Lots going on with Brooklyn. Last weekend she had her wallet stolen! My daughter who never takes her wallet anywhere unless she has to, the girl who knows to never put her drink down at a party, to always have her phone within reach had her wallet stolen out of her knapsack at a party. Not that there was much money in it, but all of her ID was--license, debit card, health card, her employee card and her social insurance card. Talk about devastated. She did file a police report and we got all of her ID replaced--but really tough lessons learned. Tonight she went to bed knowing that she can sleep in tomorrow because as of midnight Sunday the Durham District School Board Secondary Teachers have gone on strike! Not something she wants to hear at the end of her senior year. I have a feeling that this is going to be another crazy week!
Love your card Tracey and so happy you hard everyone home for a bit. Thinking of Brooklyn. So glad she is safe, but definitely a pain in the neck!
ReplyDeleteLovely card for a sleepless night (been there, done that!)....but oh so sorry about Brooklyn's wallet. My daughter had the same thing happen at a party and unfortunately, the girl was a "friend". Lessons learned there too! Anyway, your card is just beautiful...I predict a winner!
ReplyDeleteLoveeeeeeeeee your card! LOVING those flowers!! And sorry to hear about her wallet :(
ReplyDeleteYour card is perfect...absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour boy is already done with school...wow, he must start in the early summer? Nice that he doesn't have to move too far:)
Your poor girl...how devastating!
Here's to a GOOD week!
I couldn't be more pleased to know you've thought of me and Muse when you cannot sleep! Oh how fabulous this card is, Tracey. So clean, bright, and what a lovely stamp! Thanks so much for playing cards with me at 2a.m. - or any other time for that matter! Hugs for B... been there and it is such an awful feeling..

It's so refreshing to see this shade of blue, after so many years of the aqua side of blue! Let's hope this means that "the real blue" is coming back!! Sweet design, Tracey!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! This is the perfect stamp for it, too! Sounds like you've got a crowded house - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at Muse this week, Tracey!
Tracey I LOVE this card!! This is SO SO adorable! I need that stamp! :) So much going on with the kids! So sorry to hear about your daughter's wallet!
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry to hear about Brooklyn's wallet. That is no fun at all. Your card is gorgeous, and well worth losing sleep over. What flowers did you use? They are so sweeet.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful blue creations - bonus of them both being flowers :)
ReplyDeleteHaving your wallet stolen is the worst feeling ever! One can never be too careful and the replacement cost of the ID can be nasty sometimes too. On the bright side: best to learn the lesson young. Glad Ben still has a buddy to room with next year too :) Hugs to you.
Love your card with the row of pretty flowers, Tracey! Hope your son has a great summer with his job. And, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's wallet and teacher's strike. I hope things go much better for her! Take care and have a great week, hugs!:-)
ReplyDeleteYour card and comment about early morning card making made me smile... Haven't we all did that?? And it was well worth it,a beautiful card! X
ReplyDeleteMany of my cards are made as the sun is coming up, I can go to sleep no problem but once I'm awake (which is usually stupidly early) that's it! I love this card, Tracey. Crisp black, soft blue and a little wink, perfect combo :) x
ReplyDeleteJust loving these stamps and you stamped them with such straight stalks, very well done!! Gorgeous card!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Lots of news on your end...Best wishes to Ben with his summer job! So sorry that Brooklyn had her wallet stolen...it's such a headache! Hope her teachers resolve their issues so she can graduate without delay. I'll never understand why the teachers unions don't settle contracts during summer break! It should never have an impact on the kids...in a perfect world, right?
ReplyDeleteWell, I love, love, love your take on Michele's card, Tracey! Such a beautiful CAS design, and I love the split font on the sentiment! Are these flowers from PTI? They're really cute!
Love this row of whimsical flowers! Cute card Tracey. I'll bet you are on cloud nine with all of your birds in the nest!! So sorry to hear about Brooklyn's wallet, what a bother.
ReplyDeleteLove that you took the water-color look and applied it just to the blooms, pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove ur take !!
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet card, Tracey!
ReplyDeleteAnd sounds like things have been a little busy and crazy...sorry to hear about Brooklyn's wallet being stolen and teachers on strike! Thinking of you and your family. Hugs
I can understand why you had trouble sleeping, Tracey, and what better way to use your awake time than crafting. Especially if you can turn out great cards like this without sleep.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. Totally understand your lack of sleep. What better way to try to quiet your mind then crafting a card? I am sorry that Brooklyn's wallet was stolen. That is so violating!! Big hugs!!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely whimsical blooms, Tracey ... I see many others thought so too ... congratulations on your FM at Muse! Sorry to hear about Brooklyn's wallet ... so horrid for her, but good you were able to get everything replaced quickly. Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your FM at Muse Tracey! Your card is stunning and I just love it! Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteLove your group of flowers! Perfectly balanced, so sorry to hear about the wallet, what a bummer/pain!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card...and those flowers are about as cute as can be.
ReplyDeleteLove your take on that gorgeous card! The blue is so fresh! Enjoy having your kiddos home for a bit!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Little wonder you can't sleep, my dear friend! First, wishing your son a most enjoyable summer with his job. And poor Brooklyn! Having had my wallet 'gone missing' I empathize with all the steps that need to be taken! Lessons, yes, but...yikes! Teachers strikes are frustrating, no matter what side you're on. Striking now does, sadly, impact the kids, but equally sadly that's part of the reason it happens..to catch 'attention.' Strategies...sighhh. Hope the resolution is swift! Your translation of Michele's card: absolutely marvelous! Love your flowers; love that the card is in the style of YOU1
