Happy Saturday!
I am up in the wee hours of the morning because I don't think I can fall asleep.
Brooklyn left tonight for her trip to Italy and Greece. Don't get me wrong I am so thrilled that she has this incredible opportunity to travel in her senior year. She did not have to be to the school until 5:30 pm Friday evening to board the bus for the airport. Their flight to Rome left at 11:30 pm Friday night. So after a whirlwind of a week I am of course worried and my mind can't quite shut off. I have some pictures to share below.
This was the perfect opportunity to do this week's Make It Monday Watercolor Smooshing!
These girls have gone all the way through school together since second grade.
Waiting to get on the bus and it was freezing.
81 kids heading to Rome!
Sent from the airport!
I'll rest better once I get the call they are on the ground.
I completely understand the way you feel Tracey! With 2 daughters studying thousands of miles away from home... believe me I understand. But... she will be ok, and will enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful!Love the pink & gold and aqua!
Gorgeous card Tracey! Totally understand how you feel! My eldest is heading off to America for almost three weeks next Saturday - they leave at 10am and don't arrive til 7am - don't know how much sleep I'll get either!!!
ReplyDeletegorgeous card Tracey and I hope your daughter enjoys her trip.x
ReplyDeleteI'm up, too, tonight, and just wanted to reach out from one Mom to another. I know it's impossible to turn off that worry machine when our kids are involved.......My oldest turns 40 in a few days, and it hasn't disappeared yet! Sending along special prayers for you and for that flight......
ReplyDeleteThe girls look so happy and excited. They'll have an awesome time in Rome. Love your card. You did a great job swooshing...
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for Brooklyn and her school mates - it'll be an amazing trip that will provide memories for years (decades) to come! There is such wonderful culture & history in Italy (it's where I was born, and I miss it and seeing my family as well). As a mom, I understand your anxiety, but there is safety in numbers and they will look out for each other!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous smooshing and the teal cardstock totally makes it pop!
ReplyDeleteLoving your card!! Just gorgeous!! And what an exciting trip for her!! LOVING the photos so far!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDarling girl you have there, Tracey. I have done smooshing in other ways and find it much easier that the PTI way. Maybe you just have to use PTI ink for their technique. You did and it turned out great.

ReplyDeleteLove all those pictures. Brooklyn is going to have an amazing time--memories to last a life time. And, you are the best mom to get her ready to spread her wings and go on this trip. I love Rome, and am totally jealous that she will be there. And, your card is gorgeous--smooshing is harder than it looks, and yours is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOh my...your daughter is simply stunning, and that smile! She must just brighten rooms - and faces - when she walks in! How proud you must be of her! Yes, being a mom means 'worrying,' but she'll be fine! You're pretty amazing for encouraging and supporting her on this venture; she'll come back filled with stories and ever so happy to be back home! Please, keep us posted on how she's faring!
