Happy St. Patrick's Day!
It's time for the March Waltzingmouse Blog Party. The theme this month is Lucky!
By marriage is am part Irish, hence the McNeely. Therefore my husband and children are part Irish. My husband's great grandfather came to Canada in the late 1800's and settled in an area just outside of Ottawa, Ontario which was later named Carlton Place. There is now a street there near the original homestead named after the family called McNeely Avenue. Just a bit of trivia!

And Patrick's grandparents came over from Ireland and settled in Canada to...Quebec! :)
In fact a little story...
my daddy once asked me after we were engaged if Patrick was Canadian...because his dad immigrated to the States when he was grown and he wondered if it was after Patrick was born...
never missing a beat I said "No...
he's Catholic". :)
Of course, given all the Irish running through your house--you would come up with a fabulous card for today. That shamrock is awesome on top of that die cut. Every time I see you use those sets you won, it makes me want to go shopping again.

ReplyDeleteSimilar story for me--my first husband was Irish and so my kids are part Irish. Their last names are Kelly so can't be more Irish than that! Love your card! The bright green looks fabulous and the woodgrain hearts make a great shamrock!
ReplyDeleteI am Irish by marriage too. My husband's family immigrated to the US in the 1700's and changed Murphy to Murphree. This is such a great design! Now, I'm adding a couple of sets to my wish list.
