I went through a list of things I love to do with my family. When the kids were younger we spent every single summer camping. I am admittedly a princess, I don't do tents. However, I love camping, as long as I am able to take my washroom, bed and air conditioner with me! On separate trips we have traveled right across Canada, up to northern Ontario, across the north west states, to Iowa, Illinois, Florida, and South Carolina in our travel trailer. We don't have it anymore, our family got too big for it and our summers these past few years have been very rugby dominated. There are lots of good memories of camping, so my card for this week features the theme of camping.
My focal image is a digi image from Market Street Stamps from their Block Party in June. I didn't get to play along, but I had to use this adorable camper image. I coloured my image with Copics in the red which was one of the original colours that the Shasta Camper came in all those years ago. I debossed my focal panel using the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate from Papertrey Ink. It is one of my favourites but it does not ever photograph well for me.
I may not have quite enough green on my card but I am also entering this card over at Dynamic Duos for challenge #18. Just check out the curtains! ;)
Head on over to CASology today to learn what the `cue card`means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

How CUTE is this! LOVE the little green curtain Tracey, super card. Thanks for playing along with us at Dynamic Duos!
ReplyDeleteI grew up camping almost every weekend in the summer. Such great memories. We had a trailer that looked kinda like this at one point. Super cute card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card. I really like that retro looking camper. Those camping memories sound like fun. I am not a camper at all, but my girls love that sort of thing (nature, dirt, etc.).
ReplyDeleteI am a princess right along with you Tracey :) Yet again...another thing we have in common :) Love this sweet camper!
ReplyDeleteHow perfect for the challenge, Tracey! Great colors and design! Love the camper image...and like you, I don't do tent well, but I think I would love Glamping (glamorous camping!!).
ReplyDeleteLovely, fun card. We went camping once. It threw it down all week, and the tent leaked. Never again!
ReplyDeleteGreat story and great take on the challenge, as always, Tracey! And your sweet little lime curtains for the DD challenge, brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteOh I remember this little camper---so perfect for the CAS challenge and I think you have just the right amount of both colors for the Dynamic Duo! I have to chuckle at today's RVS......quite modern, not at all like the old days!
ReplyDeleteI too have fond memories of camping! As a girl, we had a camper and spent a good many family trips camping together! After I got married, DH and I did quite a bit of backpacking and tenting! Now...not so much. It's a lot of work with 3 little boys and our bodies seem to scream if we spend a night on the ground! LOL! Must be getting older or something?! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this adorable image and the way you colored it! The added texture is a really nice touch and I love the font of your sentiment!!!
The words fun and camping trip do not go together for me, lol!, but I love this card - the retro feel of the trailer with that small pop of green is really cool!
ReplyDeleteYour card is too cute, love the embossing plate you used! Thanks for playing with us at Dynamic Duos!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! Love the little green curtains!
ReplyDeletewhat a fun card, tracey... love the little travel trailer!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card and I enjoyed reading your camping story. Love those green curtains. Thanks for playing at Dynamic Duo's this week!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Karen
So fun and cute! Love the retro look Tracey! Thanks for joining us at Dynamic Duos!
ReplyDeleteThat is one funky trailer! Love the touch of green on the curtains. And I'm with you - not much of a tent and roughing it kind of gal! :)
ReplyDeleteYour little camper is just too cute and I'm sure it brought back a flood of fun memories as you made this card.
ReplyDeleteYou will always have your camping memories ! Love your card and the way you were able to use the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love this - and nothing says "family" like a camper!
ReplyDeleteCool card. ;-) I think that little pop of green is just enough. I love your card, but I also loved hearing about your fun times as a family. Isn't that what life is all about?? Glad you could join Dynamic Duos this week. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite like camping is there? Even if you've brought the bed, air conditioner and washroom with you, it's still camping in my book!
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the colors - that little trailer is too cute!
ReplyDeleteCute card!
ReplyDeleteLove that lil camper. I myself was a tent camper when the kids were little. Now when we camp it's at a lodge. hehe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stylish camper you made with those green curtains! I would love to camp with my family like we used to when I was a kid. Sadly, I don't think anyone would be able to make it through. Cute card, Tracey!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!
ReplyDeleteLove that little camper with it's fabby green curtains!
And not much of a camper here...
hubby ruined it when he put me on some tree roots...
and yes!
I still bring that up every chance I get...
usually when he's mentioning camping! :)
I have many fond memories of camping when I was kid, however I doubt my parents felt the same way! What a fun image of a camper ~ Love your green curtains!
ReplyDeleteMy parents loved to camp ~ me, not so much! Your camper is a great image that recalls (for many) the joy of outdoor vacations ~ perfect family time!
ReplyDeleteFun image you used and perfect for the theme!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, camping in my definition involves a bed, a bathroom, and air conditioning if possible! I love your card and the story behind it. I do think of vacation when I think of "family" and I love the sweet camper you used on your card. Perfect CAS design!
