Missed the deadline this week, but not by much. Of course the card was done yesterday but this week, like all weeks this summer, has been crazy! I don't think I am alone, it seems everyone has been having a busy one.
That being said I wanted to share the card I made for the things you see in the sky challenge. The sky, the sun and white clouds come to mind first but i toyed between a hot air balloon and a single balloon that escaped someone on the ground. The hot air balloon won, I have only ever seen one and if was magnificent!
All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:
Cardstock: White, Spring Rain, Summer Sunrise
Stamps: Up Up & Away
Ink: True Black (PTI), Memento Tuxedo Balck (Tsukineko)
Dies: Up Up & Away (PTI), Sunshine, Clouds (L'il Inkers)
Impression Plates: Linen and Canvas
other: foam dots, Copic markers (R05, YG23, YR15, T4)
Seeing a brightly coloured hot air balloon in the sky is so amazing - this card evokes that perfectly!
ReplyDeletesuper card!! i so love this pti set! great job
ReplyDeleteGorgeous , love the Lill Inkers clouds and sun. Beautiful bright balloon. My daughter has them flying over her house daily.. She lives by all the vineyards in Temecula.
ReplyDeleteEnabling alert...really thinking I need those dies from L'il Inkers...and you aren't helping Tracey :) Love the layout...so so sweet and the colors on the balloon! Sorry you missed the deadline, but am gladI got to see your gorgeous card.
ReplyDeleteOh what a delight this is Tracey! Your balloon IS magnificent! I missed this challenge by a day also :(
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I also went with the hot air balloons. They are EVERYWHERE here all summer, and your card captures their beauty perfectly. So sorry you missed the deadline. It has happened to me, too, and is no fun at all. Well, at least you still have an awesome card.
ReplyDeleteTracey, I really, really love this! We see hot air balloons in the sky frequently, and we stop to look every time. The other day my little girl called "Look! There's an egg in the sky!", and sure enough, there was! An egg-shaped hot air balloon. :-)
ReplyDeleteRats, sorry you missed the challenge, but glad you posted anyway ... such a happy card!
ReplyDeleteYour hot air balloon is fabulous!! I love the bright colors!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful b'day card, Tracey! It looks like a perfect summer day and certainly more than nailed that challenge, darn it all anyway! I'm so sorry you missed it, but I'm glad you went ahead and posted it for our pleasure!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you missed the challenge. It's a really cute card. Glad you posted anyway. :) Ann
ReplyDeleteTracey, What a cute card. Love your whole layout.
ReplyDeleteI love your brilliant colors against the sky! I used to live near a launch area and it never failed to thrill me to see those graceful, colorful balloons against the blue sky!
ReplyDeleteSO pretty! Really you have only seen one hot air balloon? Maybe it is a climate thing, they are in CO all the time! :) Wonderful layout, and I LOVE the bright colors used on the balloon:) **hugs**
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card. ;-) It's so simple but has big impact with the elements and colors you used. Love it! Every year on July 3rd, a nearby community has a balloon festival with about 20 hot air balloons. They all launch at about the same time and compete in a few games - it's really a fun tradition that we love as a family. Great card, girl. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove that hot air balloon - hope you'll link up at 52 Card Pickup again this week!
