Papertrey Blog Hop - March 25

Wow, where did the month of March go?

Before I get down to business I am going to share my past few days with you.  My son Ben is 17, he is a good student, wants to be an architect unless he becomes a pro rugby player first.  Ben has been very sick the last few days.  Last month he received a call back to a second tryout for the Rugby Ontario 7s Summer Games.  This tryout takes place tomorrow.  Ben also will be leaving next Saturday for a 12 day trip to London, France and Belgium with his school for the 75th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge (Canadian history).  It is midnight and we just got home from a day at the hospital with Ben, he has contracted Infectious Mono!  The doctor has pulled him from school this week for complete bed rest and has determined 3-4 weeks of recovery and absolutely no rugby.  Did I mention that he is currently taking a rugby course at school this term? No tryout tomorrow and maybe he won't be going to Europe. Long story short, we will just have to see what is going to happen.  :(

On to happy things it's time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  This month we had a photo to work with in lovely spring colours.  I chose to work with the colours and a new technique.  Typically I am not a big fan of yellow but I did have fun putting this one together.

    First of all, I am so sorry about Ben not feeling well and the possible change of plans for him. This is all hard for a 17 to deal with, I know its hard for you too!.

    Your card and technique are gorgeous! Love the way this turned out. I would love to try this . Beautiful and very interesting.

    So sorry to hear about your son. I am sure he is definitely disappointed. I will keep him in my prayers.
    Absolutely love your card. The yellows are so soft. Love the damask background. The focal point is perfect. Love it. I am sure it was a lot of work, but definitely worth it. Would love to know how to do it.

    I'm so sorry to hear about Ben's illness Tracey. He must be so disappointed and you must be really worried for him.Fingers crossed that he makes a spectacular recovery and can still go on his trip.

    I love the spirelly? technique - I've never seen it used with baker's twine and it really stands out. Great job.

    This is really pretty, Tracey. That twine medallion is just fantastic, oh my word!! I love the woodgrain impression on the mat stack, and that button is such a perfect touch.

    I am so sorry to hear about your son's illness and that he might not be able to participate in dear plans. I'm sending lots of hugs and prayers that all will work out well, most of all that he will be blessed with healing, and still be able to find good experiences. What terrible timing for this illness! :-S

    I'm so sorry to hear about your son. It's good you told us so that all this positive energy can flow his way. That can be so serious and it's nothing to mess around with. My heart breaks for the guy because of the timing and what he'll miss, but it's a wake-up call that he needs the rest. This too shall pass. And I LOVE your card!!

    Tracey, your "twine" technique is gorgeous! What a fun card. Sorry to read about your son. I had that years ago and will never forget it. It was A-W-F-U-L. Didn't have the energy to do anything but sleep. Pray all works out for him as it's such a busy time in his life!
