The Card Concept Challenge #27

IMG_7331

It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept. The one year anniversary challenge was a huge success. This week we resume back to our regularly scheduled program and challenge #27.

Isn't this graphic so fun?

I went with the ombre using some paper I got last year from sweet Amy Tsuruta and stamped my sentiment right in the middle of the heart using delicious Golded Glitz Delicata ink. The big heart was adhered with foam tape for a bit of dimension.  We really hope that you play along with us again this challenge. Head over to The Card Concept to see what the rest of the team has made to inspire you this time.

I am also submitting this to the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge Have a Heart!

I  am also submitting this to the current Inkspirational Challenge - Ombre.

The Card Concept One Year Anniversary Challenge

IMG_7232

The Card Concept is celebrating their one year anniversary this challenge!
I am also happy to report that I am back from my leave to designing with them again.
Thank you Laurie Willison for filling in my spot as Clean & Simple designer in my absence.

We are back with a special anniversary challenge and a new design team for 2015 made up of some of the original design team and some new faces. See all the details on the Card Concept blog as well as their inspiration to get you started with the new challenge.

Check out the beautiful inspiration graphic:

Here is how I was inspired by the graphic...

I am also submitting this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3, believe it or not this is the first time I inked up Papertrey Ink's The Sweet Life! I have to say I was a bit intimidated by the layered stamping but it only took two tries to line them up. The first one I tried out on scratch paper was actually the best one--LOL.

I really hope to see you play over at The Card Concept.
Have a great day!

The Card Concept Challenge #14 - Colour Challenge

IMG_5556

Today is the start of a new challenge at The Card Concept!
We have a colour challenge for you this time, can you guess what they are?
Yup you guessed them...

I was not having a great colouring night, I find it so hard to Copic colour bold colours like red and black every little slip is a big slip!  Inspired by the three pillow, three hot air balloons. I still love this stamp set after all these years!

The Card Concept Challenge #12 - Use a Nautical Theme

IMG_5186

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept!

Perfect how this challenge lined up for Father's Day!

Any reason to use my Waltzingmouse stamps is a good reason.  I used Ocean Bound and Man of the Hour to create a card for my Dad. My Dad loves anything to do with boating or water.  I picked up the colours from the inspiration photo with navy and some silver embossing and then a bit of red just because.  We hope that you join us for this challenge, looking forward to seeing what inspires you.

The Card Concept Challenge #10 - Use of Coffee Theme

IMG_4614

It is time for The Card Concept challenge #10 and we are brewing up a storm with this theme:

Amy Tsuruta is joining us this challenge as our Clean & Layered Guest Designer!

Here is how I was inspired, I wanted my card to be bright like the colours in the inspiration photo. We all have friends that we keep saying `let`s get together` but time keeps marching on. I have a friend that I used to have coffee with once a week when she was only working 3 days a week.  Since she has started working 4 days a week, there isn`t as much time for coffee! So this is going too be dropped in her mailbox tomorrow.

The Card Concept Challenge #8

cover

Time for another challenge at The Card Concept!
This time we have another theme challenge...

Typically we would need to always have an umbrella on hand this time of year, but Tuesday morning I woke up to 2" of snow--Yikes!  We had some days last week that we didn't even need a jacket and today it is so cold.  Bye bye winter time for you to go.  A get well card inspired by both the inspiration photo and the striped paper pieced umbrella from Sarah Gray's post entered at CASology last week.  After colouring the umbrella several times I wasn't getting the look I wanted. As soon as I saw her bright and cheery umbrella I knew that was what it needed.

I used Weather Through from Fresh Squeezed Stamps and Blooming Marvelous from Clearly Besotted Stamps. Then I used Summer Sunrise cardstock from Papertrey Ink and Seen and Noted patterned paper from Pebbles for my design.

The Card Concept Challenge #7

IMG_4223

It's time for Challenge #7 at The Card Concept.

Inspired by the colours of the butterfly I coloured a stamped butterfly with Copic makers.
I stamped the image on a panel and coloured before adhering to the card base. This way the recipient will not see the marker bleed on the inside of the card. As a finishing touch I added some Wink of Stella to the orange on the butterfly.  I am also going to share this card for Challenge #2 at Time Out Challenges based on the inspiration photo below my card.

The Card Concept #6 - Create a Birthday Card

IMG_4048

Can you believe that we are already at the 6th challenge for The Card Concept?
The newest challenge is a theme challenge and the theme is to create a birthday card!

For my card I create a one layered, layered stamping card. I was inspired by the colours of the flowers on the cake and realized that I don't actually have that many flower stamps. I will need to rectify that. I used the Papertrey Ink Scrap-a-Faire exclusive stamp set A Reasons to Smile. I am also submitting this card for the current Seize the Birthday Challenge.

The Card Concept #5 - Colours

IMG_3984

Time for another challenge at The Card Concept.  This time we have colours for your inspiration.

You might think that you can't use spray ink on a clean and simple design. If you think about the basic components of CAS design.

 1.  One main image
2.  Lots of open space (uncluttered)
3.  Limited layers & embellishments
4.  Quick & easy to recreate

My card meets all those requirements. There is sometimes confusion with open/white space.  It doesn't always have to be white, just limit it to one colour.   In the case of my design I sprayed the ink on the white base, that now becomes the open/white space. Truth be told this actually started out as a one-layer design, but the ink warped the paper, so I cut the panel slightly smaller than the new card base.

I hope you play along with us again this challenge.
We had 172 participants with challenge #4, let's see if we can beat that this time.

Thanks for visiting.
