Happy Tuesday and time for this week's colourQ palette!
This gorgeous doctor's bag is on my wish list now, isn't it gorgeous?

I used some new stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti for my card today. I used Crisp Cantaloupe, Harvest Gold, London Fog and Baja Breeze inks.

Clean & Simple Card Making 3 - Day 9

IMG_4063

I never thought that I would ever get so messy making a card or that it would be this much fun. My card is based on a card Debby Hughes created while she demonstrated creating textural effects.  It isn't perfect but I think I might do it again if I ever get all the sticky bits off my cutting mat! So many techniques--embossing, Copics, masking, paint splatter, Wink of Stella, embossing paste and stenciling.  Then of course i had to add a few sequins for balance. Definitely the most I have ever done to one card.  I have held off with the embossing paste trend, but I actually really like the texture and look of it.

The Card Concept - Challenge #1 - Colours

IMG_3510

Well here we are with the first challenge for The Card Concept!

Our first challenge is a colour challenge, so you as a participant use the colours to create your card and then create your card based on one of the six defined styles from The Card Concept. I am one of the Clean & Simple Designers for The Card Concept and here is my card based on the colours.  Inspired by these colours I made a smaller card (4 1/4" x 4 1/4") which I added a stitched square to that was slightly smaller. I used a smaller image and sentiment and then added some enamel dots to add interest without clutter.

I added another cute sentiment to the inside of the card...

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see all of the lovely inspiration from the designers, find a design style that you think you are or want to try and join in the fun, we can't wait to see what you decide to do!

Moxie Fab Thanks! Blog Hop

Welcome to the next stop on today's Blog Hop for Cath Edvalson.
You should have arrived here from Angi Barrs blog.

Today's hop is a celeration for Cath, and how she has touched so many lives in the paper crafting community as the Trends Editor of Moxie Fab World.  So lets get started...

Cath you are so much more than a title, you have become a cheerleader for all of us offering your encouragement and support.

For me your encouragement gave me the push I needed to start to believe in myself enough to enter challenges and even submit for submission calls.  You have always responded personally to any of my efforts.  At Moxie Fab World your daily posts have always been fun and inspiring.  Moxie Fab World was somewhere I visited everyday to see the next newest thing, to see a gorgeous or fun picture, to check out new products and trends or just to see what all the buzz is about.  You are going to be missed so much, by so many, and honestly I don't think that Moxie Fab World will ever be the same again without you.

Since I started blogging almost three years ago, the most memorable moment for me was when you emailed me and asked me if I would like to be The Moxie Fabber of the Week!  Absolutely the most significant moment in my paper crafting world. I will never forget that moment, how shocked I was that you, Cath Edvalson, thought that I was talented enough to hold that title? The day that the Moxie Fabber of the Week post went live you started off by saying this in your intro of me...

"Whenever I visit her blog, I always leave with a spring in my click and a warmth in my heart. Her designs are clean, expertly executed, exquisitely designed, and lovely as lovely ever gets. I love that she visits the Moxie Fab World as often as she does, and I'm so glad to get to know her better today."

I was so thrilled at the beginning of October when you picked this card as a Tuesday Trigger.  I was so super excited!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I imagine that today you are feeling so much love from all around the world, from all the people whose lives you have touched.  Wherever your journey takes you next I hope that it that it makes you truly happy, just as you have made so many happy for all your years at Moxie Fab World!

This card is just for you Cath, my most Moxie Fab Friend! ♥

A Heartfelt Thank You!

IMG_2937

Today's card is for all of you. Yesterday was my birthday and Joyce of Cards-by-the-Sea hosted a linky party for my birthday. Joyce is a sweet sweet friend and virtual party planner extraordinaire.  I can't even begin to tell you how overwhelmed and honoured I was yesterday to receive birthday wishes from so many of you!  Blogging started out as a way to enter some card challenges while I was exploring what type of card marker I really am.  In the almost two years that I have had my blog I have made so many wonderful friendships from around the world.  I hold each and everyone of those friendships close to my heart. Which brings me to today's card. This is my way of saying thank you to all of you for for making yesterday a truly special occasion for me. I blog because of all of your encouragement and support so this heartfelt thank you is for you!

Using autumn colours and of course stitched mats for my card.

Muse Card Challenge #40

IMG_2881

When I saw that Darnell was the Muse for this week's Muse Challenge I knew I had to play along with my friend.  I haven't played in quite a while, but then again last summer vanished didn't it?  This is the gorgeous card that we had for our inspiration:

I was inspired by the beautiful tall flower of Darnell's card and I wanted to ink up my, new to me, Papertrey Meadow Greens stamps.

Many Thanks and City Crafter Challenge #181

IMG_2808

Happy Mail from CAS-ual Fridays came today!

Although Canadian Thanksgiving was last weekend I could not wait to ink up my new Amber Waves stamp set. It is always a good idea to have some thank you cards on hand. A kraft card base, Basic Grey Hipster patterned paper and that gorgeous bunch of wheat and of course I can't make a card without stitched matts.  A really clean and simple card to put together, I love it when a stamp is the showpiece! I am also submitting this to the City Crafter Challenge Give Thanks.
