Color Hues #98

Hi crafty friends! It's time for another new color duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge #98! Teammate Karen Walker chose the challenge colours of RED & BLACK.

I used an old Papertrey Ink stamp set called Frilly Flowers. I'm sure there are a few people out there who will remember this set on sight. I simply stamped various blooms on my card front in red and black inks from Catherine Pooler--Rockin' Red, Pebble and Midnight. Warning: Catherine Pooler Midnight ink WILL stain your stamp black! It still work fine with all the colours but the stamp will stain.

The Birthday Wishes sentiment comes from Honey Bee Stamps Birthday Wishes. I stamped and white embossed two 'Birthday"'s in red and black. I decided to use the red one, but the black one behind it gives just the perfect shadow it needs to stand out on this card. Plus it gives a bit of dimension!

I chose to use the white embossed wishes in black.

The card is a bit busier than my normal style but I was actually quite pleased with the way it turned out.

If you haven't already visited the Color Hues Color Challenge Blog I hope you stop by and see what my fabulous teammates have created for the challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create!

  4. This card is perfection, Tracey! I've always been a huge fan of Papertrey Ink, but I don't remember these cute florals. Red, black, and white is always a favorite of mine. I love the the white on red for the die cut sentiment as well!
